There is something special about a Saturday morning in Bellingham, Washington.

As a photographer who recently moved to Bellingham, I spent the morning documenting the people, colors, and small moments that make this market so memorable. While beautiful flowers and fresh produce certainly catch your eye, it's the people behind every booth—and every smile—that truly make this place feel like home.

Supporting Local Farmers in Bellingham



One of my favorite moments was watching a farmer hand a container of freshly picked blueberries to a customer.


It wasn't simply a purchase.

It was a conversation.

It was trust.


It was someone choosing to support the people who wake up before sunrise to grow food for our community.

Buying local means your money stays in Bellingham and helps small farms continue doing what they love.

One little girl peeked through strings of dried flowers with the biggest smile.

Nearby, another child wandered through colorful bouquets while parents laughed together.

These are the moments that often go unnoticed.


As a photographer, they're the moments I hope people remember years from now.

Meeting the Artists Behind the Work



One of the joys of visiting the market is meeting talented local artists.


I watched a live portrait artist carefully sketch visitors throughout the morning, creating one-of-a-kind keepsakes while people gathered around to watch.


Just a few booths away, local ceramic artists displayed beautifully handcrafted mugs, bowls, and serving pieces—each one unique, carrying the subtle fingerprints of the maker. These pieces aren't just functional; they're works of art that become part of everyday rituals.

If there was one thing that defined the morning visually, it was flowers.

It's impossible to walk through the market without slowing down to admire the color and craftsmanship.
