There’s something about van life in Bellingham, Washington that feels perfectly at home in the Pacific Northwest. Surrounded by mountains, forests, beaches, and winding roads, Bellingham is made for people who want a little more freedom, a little more adventure, and plenty of time outside.


And of course, van life is even better when your adventure buddy has four paws.


I recently photographed a lifestyle session featuring a woman, her dog, and their van here in Bellingham, WA. Rather than creating perfectly posed images, we focused on capturing the little moments that tell the story of life on the road: hanging out beside the van, exploring outside together, cuddling with a dog, and enjoying the natural beauty that makes Northwest Washington such an incredible place to call home.

VanLife Photography in Bellingham, WA



Bellingham is one of my favorite places for outdoor lifestyle photography because there are so many different landscapes within a short drive.


You can go from downtown Bellingham to the waterfront, forest trails, open fields, beaches, and the scenic roads around Chuckanut Drive incredibly quickly.


For a van life photography session, that variety gives us plenty of opportunities to capture both the vehicle and the lifestyle surrounding it.


The van becomes more than transportation. It becomes part of the story.


Whether you live in your van full-time, take weekend camping trips around Washington, or simply love spending time traveling with your dog, these sessions are about documenting what this chapter of your life actually feels like.

Dogs make lifestyle photography infinitely more fun.


Instead of expecting your dog to sit perfectly for every photograph, I love capturing their personality naturally: running outside, looking through the van door, snuggling with their person, exploring the landscape, or simply hanging out together.


As a Bellingham dog photographer, my goal is to photograph the relationship between you and your dog rather than only creating traditional pet portraits.


Those little interactions are usually what become the most meaningful photographs.

Lifestyle Photography That Feels Like You



My favorite photography sessions don't feel like traditional photoshoots.


They feel more like spending an afternoon together.


You might make coffee outside your van, walk your dog along the beach, sit together watching the water, explore a trail, or simply hang out around your campsite.


I'll guide you when needed, but I also leave plenty of room for natural moments to happen.


The goal is to create photographs that feel personal rather than overly posed.
